Columbia Business School
In 1754, the Church of England established in New York an institute for higher education—the fifth of its kind in America—known then as King's College. After the Revolution, however, the school adopted a new, less colonial name: Columbia University.
The Ivy League school gained a full-time, two-year MBA program in 1916 and has since become a top-10 fixture in the rankings. As a result of the curriculum overhaul of 2008, Columbia Business School now boasts a flexible core that allows students to home in on a specific career path as part of their core courses. The curriculum also weaves in ethical considerations, starting with a required pre-term module on corporate governance. With more than 20 concentrations available, Columbia students gain a career-tailored management education in one of the world's foremost business capitals.
