7.   A researcher discovered that people who have low levels of immune’ system activity tend to score much lower on tests of mental health than do people with normal or high immune’ system activity．The researcher concluded from this experiment that the immune system protects against mental illness as well as against physical disease．

Reasoning-system activity can inhibit mental illness as it does physical illness．While it is possible that mental i11ness might itself depress immune-system activity, the researcher assumes that this is not the case．If mental illness caused a decline in immune-system activity, then lower levels of immune-system activity would be expected as a result，and the higher levels would merely indicate the absence of illness rather than any effect on illness.

题目的推理是 down in physical health => down in mental health  --- (1)
但另一个可能的推理是 down in mental health => down in mental health. ---

我是这样认为的

题目只是叙述了immune-system&mental illness的关系，而对于immune-

system&physical illness是显而易见的，作为常识，免疫系统好，那么就少得病啦

～

immune-system－－＞mental illness必须是后者不能推出前者，这样才能成立～～

我的想法是：

研究结果表明： “免疫系统（low) 的人mental health也(low) ”文章是用两者的比较来阐述观点的。但是并没有表明是谁导致了谁。所以存在两种可能性： 1、免疫系统（low) --》mental health(low)
2、mental health也(low)-->免疫系统（low)

但是文章的结论是 免疫系统能够防止 mental illness 和 physical disease。 也就是说只有第一种可能性能够推得这样的结论。要使文章的逻辑清楚，作者的假设就是：默认第一种可能性，同时排除第二种可能性 即D选项： (D)  Mental illness does not cause people's immune-system activity to decrease.

不知道我说的大家明不明白。
