关于as...as的问题

请教一下两个问题

1 but not 和 rather than 是不是都只能 接名词，不接句子？

2 They are as disturbing to A as they are disturbing to B.这个句子省略到什么地步可以呢？还是一点都不能省？

   They are as disturbing to A as they are  to B.   They are as disturbing to A as to B.      都对不对呢？

   另外这句话呢？They are as disturbing to A as compelling to B. 一定要补全they are吗？

1. 如果你要讲的是is not A but  B，那你问的这两个都是接短语。因为前面几乎都会有一个动词的说明，but B或是rather than都是附带讲的，不是重点的。

 

2. 如果比较句型中，I am as tall as you. 是可以将句子省到只有受词。
我知道你要问的那题，刚好是GMAT目前我看到唯一一题用两个形容词的，通常是as adj/adv as....，我的感覺時後面的省略要麽就是subject & verb一起省，只剩下object。不然就是得整句写出，另外suject用代名词或是that, those之类的改写。

 

一点想法，叁考吧

百度上搜过来的，顺便回答一下。
 

1 but not 和 rather than 是不是都只能 接名词，不接句子？

but not 一定是和某个词，或者连词一起用的，不然but 和 not语义重复，单独but皆可以了。

rather than肯定可以加句子的：Rather than get money in such a dishonest way, he would beg in the streets

2 They are as disturbing to A as they are disturbing to B.这个句子省略到什么地步可以呢？还是一点都不能省？

 

 这句话在gmat里一般不会这么表达，因为比较结构相同的比较部分只要出现一次就可以了

 

They are as disturbing to A as they are disturbing to B 黄的部分去不去掉都可以。红的部分必须去掉

可以进一步变成这样，把they去掉。（一般同一个主语的比较结构都会被去掉）

They are as disturbing to A as are to B    ---------------这个结构最好，既简洁有平行。

还可以这样They are as disturbing to A as to B-----------这个也不错的，但是没有上面的好，因为比较结构最好是前后句 对称。

上面两种形式都可能是正确答案。

但是不能省略成这样：They are as disturbing to A as  B，这样就有歧义了。

1、我说的不是not...but,就是but not,和rather than 一样用，这个结构在GMAT

中不优选，出现的都是错的。但如果能确定rather than加名词性短语，应该but not 也是。

2、原来这种结构是比较少见的。看来，如果两形容词不一样，主谓就不能省；若相同，主谓都可省，只留下不一样的部分。

这种说法不对的.

They are as disturbing to A as they were compelling to B 

黄色部分省掉是可以的，和形容词一致还是不一致没关系。

 

但是省掉，就表现不出时态的区别，所以省不省还要看句义。

省还是不省：只考虑 一点  ： 是不是generate ambiguity 这是correctness的问题。

                 还考虑 一点  ：是不是 遵守 parrallelism，这是 effectiveness的问题。

最优选: 即平行，又无歧义的
次优选：无歧义，不平行。

不选：有歧义，但平行的。
更不可能选：有歧义，又不平行。
