Most of the professors were excellent- they knew everything about the topic they were teaching. They were engaging, helpful, etc. They made the classes interesting and exciting (which is sometimes hard to do late at night after we've been at work all day!).

Overall it was a wonderful program. Students really feel "at home" at BC. I had some wonderful professors that really piqued my interested in several subjects. I found much of the curriculum applicable to work and felt I could contribute more--and more effectively.

I thought that the mechanics of the program were poorly suited for the large part-time student population (enrolling in electives and upper-level required courses involves calling the registrar's office at 9 am on the day that registration opens for that semester where one poor woman is in charge of taking all the calls and registering students on a first-come, first-served basis. Honestly, it's easier to get tickets to the latest U2 concert than to get into some of these courses). I was pleasantly surprised by the intelligence and work ethic of fellow students, though.

I had a few meetings with the career center staff and they were very willing to make any arrangements to meet, but I found them not encouraging. They were fast to tell me that what I was looking for was a stretch and I probably would not find a job that I was looking for. The career center could have put me in touch with alums in the careers I was interested in looking into or helped me set up informational interviews if they believed that I could not find an interview for a position.

Need to continue to integrate technology better into teaching, break out of the transparency/paper habits.

There were lots and lots of networking events from breakfasts, lunches, cocktails, round table discussions, guest speakers, and activities. Every week there were multiple networking activities for full and part-time students to attend.

There was less academic rigor than I expected, although that may be a function of night school in general. BC has a strange program though where its part-time and full-time students take all of their electives together, which makes for an odd dynamic as you have some people who are working on their classes 24-7 and some for whom it is a distant second priority.

I liked that the part-time MBA program at Boston College was taught by the same professors of the full-time MBA program. There is no distinction between the two programs, and that was really important to me.

The business professionals sometimes lacked teaching skills then the professors sometimes lacked that real world experience. Pairing the two together would have been a powerful impact.

Almost all the faculty were highly immersed in the material they were teaching, many having at least one if not several accolades to their credit in their field of focus. All of them had significant ties in the greater Boston area to high-level executives who would come in and deliver guest lectures, which was welcome both as a change of pace AND as a description of what a "hands-on experience" is like out in the field.

The education was very good. I not only learned a great deal from my professors but from my classmates as there was a diverse background, both culturally and from a career standpoint. A part-time student has access to all the resources and facilities that BC has to offer, which makes your experience equal to that of the full time students.

The program is a good blend of faculty as well as adjuncts who brought practical experience to the classroom. They are usually responsive to questions/discussion outside of class hours. Some extended their help with job placement and networking opportunities.
