都说those指代patterns，但是A选项的意思变成 patterns that boys experience. 男孩可以经历pattern吗？

带着这个问题分解一下题干里女孩的信息：the patterns of strees that girls experience --> the patterns {of stress (that girls experience)}...这里that做定语修饰stress，女孩经历了stress，而不是pattern.

而A选项: patterns that boys experience. 无论如何也不该让它正确吧。

另外：也许有人说A的those可以理解成指代the patterns of stress这个整体呢？那句子变成those(the patterns of stress) that boys expeience = the boys experience the patterns of stress，男孩经历的还是pattern而不是stress, 而不是像题干里面的that可以就近修饰stress，说girls experience stress.

综上所述，A选项是个corrective性质的错误答案吧？
按照一般GMAC逻辑习惯，A选项可以参考修改为: are those of stress that boys experience

(A)    正确, those指代前面出现的patterns of stress, that从句修饰those表达清晰;补出助动词are使句
子意思表达清晰无歧意; patterns of stress that girl experience和those that boys experience结构对
称.
(B)    比较对象不对应,比较的前者是patterns,后者是what boys experience.
(C)    比较对象不对应,比较的前者是patterns,后者是boy’s experience; would不能代替are,
(D) do应该改为are
(E)    意思表达不清patterns of boys表达太模糊.缺乏助动词are意思表达模糊,可以理解为,： …are
more likely to result in depression than result in stress patterns of boys；patterns of stress that girls
experience与stress patterns of boys表达方式上不平行。

個人覺得boys experience patterns of stress意思ok。
如果lz不能接受這樣的理解，或者可以把that看成修飾stress，those指代patterns of stress，直接代入後面：
patterns of stress that boys experience，that-clause是修飾stress的限定性定從。
句子仍然通順。

我是觉得楼主有点吹毛求疵了，答案是比出来的，你觉得除了A那个还有对的可能吗？
而且咱来看下A选项，those指代的就是patterns，这个patterns（修饰成分是of stress，由于是必要修饰，在这道题里，有patterns他就是stress的pattern，不可能有其他可能的pattern），在后面those是没有歧义的，因为patterns of stress是一个整体，那我们就可以省略。

还有一个关键性的问题，A of B that从句这种结构，如果B对于A是关键性修饰，就是说B决定A的性质，一旦省略B，A就改变了逻辑含义的情况下——that作为定语修饰的就是A of B这个整体，带入这道题，that修饰的就是patterns of stress，而不是stress，估计这个点才是LZ纠结的问题。

我们确实可以把后面那个that理解为修饰those里面隐含的stress，但是GMAC会说这里的that只能修饰those整体，也就是修饰patterns of sth.

如果按你说的，boys experience patterns的逻辑意思说的通，算OK的话，那我没有问题了

其他答案排除，没问题。我不认为该题有歧义，也没有省略某部分的意思。你可能没理解我的问题。
（1）patterns of stress that 中，that修饰stress, 正确
（2）those that 中those=patterns of stress, stress根本没出现，所以that修饰patterns or patterns of stress；跟（1）的情况完全不同。
（3）Flip and simplify it: Compared to the patterns that boys experience, the patterns [of stress that girls experience] are more likely to result in depression. 意思是boys experienced the patterns, not stress.

我的问题是boys是否能经历pattern。
典型的GMAC风格的logically wrong choice.
