此题用排除法更好。

 

首先BCE因为后半句用的是“underestimate it when”，错误，排除.

 

剩下AD, 再来分析句子。 LZ说得不错，that 引导的是限制性定语从句,必须紧紧跟在所修饰名词之后，但要注意，该题that前面的逗号不是用来分隔equipment和that的，而是插入语such as lights前后必须用逗号隔开，但这并不影响that修饰前面的“equipment”，因为去掉插入语（包括前后两逗号）后，that就紧跟在equipment后面了，并没有逗号隔开。

 

再从句子的简洁性来说，A过于啰嗦，可以用一个形容词修饰的却用一个定语从句，明显D更好

 

另外，再看后半句的“by unobtrusive equipment”，则D中by visible equipment和其对应，句子结构也更好。

不知道lz这个是哪里的解释。that引导限制性定语从句修饰equipment，A和B用are，主谓不一致，错误。c中that is visible繁冗，可以直接用visible形容词，这个gmat规则里有提到过。c和e后面it指代错误应该是that代替前面同类名词the amount of energy。when也用错了，应该是that和前面平行。
