The following appeared as part of a newspaper editorial.
"Two tears ago Nova High School began to use interactive computer instruction in three academic subjects. The school dropout rate declined immediately, and last year's graduates have reported some impressive achievements in college. In future budgets the school board should use a greater portion of the available funds to buy more computers, and all schools in the district should adopt interactive computer instruction throughout the curriculum."

example: excessive chatting, romance between employees, frequent personal calls

2) as for employees themselves,  they can avoid unnecessary trouble if not interfereing their own personal lives

example: employee in divorce with his wife

3) admittedly, occasional social activities such as company party and personal communication will foster the friendhsip among employees and enhance the common sense on the goals of the company.

This political advertisement is flawed in several aspects:

1. The author unsubstantiatedly assumes that the increase in worker's wages, creation of new jobs as well as the
choice of six corporations to locate their headquaters are the consequce of the leadership of Adams as a governer.

2. The poll cited by the author is described in the vaguest possible term, thereby rendering
the credibility of the poll highly suspected.

3. No evidence is provided in this argument to support the assertion that Zebulon, who has different political
agendas with those of Adams, will lead our state in the wrong direction. It is entirely possible that the
economics will better off under the leadership of Zebulon.

In conclusion, without substantiated evidences to support the claims made in this argument, the advertisement is
nothing more that political rhetorics.

Issue 9

Stance:  I agree that employees shall not let their personal activities impede their productivity and efficiency
in the work place, afterall, the sucess of business are in the best interest of both the employers and employees.
However, blend the daily work with a healthy amount of personal lives will contribute to sustainable development of the business.

Points:

1) Admittedly, it is a reasonble requirement of the employers to ask the employees to keep their personal
activities from thwarting their productivity.

2) However, it is unrealistic to eliminate the personal activities from the workplace, since, employees are,
afterall, human beings with emotions, feelings and assuming familiy responsibilities.

3) A suitable amount of personal activities instilling in the workplace may help boost the morale, promote
collegiality and estable common purpose among the co-workers.  Managers are well advised to monitor whether the
personal activities are under well control in the workplace.
