Yes, when you express " that which remains; persons or things that are left over" . But the remainder could be "remainders" , which means ....

I agree on "remainder" because it seems better than "the others" from modal. at the beginning of the sentence, it is said that .."saved.one of the 7 persons,...can find the remainder.

By the way,  1． On condition that（选项有A they be not named/ C their names are not used） ====> I agree on A.

1.我的最后一道，具体记不太清了， 大概吧！答案应该就在这两个中选择：
B: Since the publication of 书名 in 19xx，Ms.A has worked to improve the opportunities of women in the United States.
E: Ms.A has worked to improve women\'s opportunities in the United States since the publication of 书名 in 19xx.
大致如此吧，当时脑子木了，老在考虑到底是opportunities of women还是women\'s opportunities？后来咬牙选了E，现在想起来好像错了，应该选B吧！
