The value of a product is determined by the ratio of its quality to its price. The higher the value of a product, the better will be its competitive position. Therefore, either increasing the quality or lowering the price of a given product wil increase the likelihood that consumer will select that product rather than a competing one.

Which of the following, if true, would most strengthen the conclusion drawn above?

think about it:   if the quality of a certain product is actually increased by its producer, but the consumers would haven't  recieved this message , they still think the quality of the product as it used to be in those days, in other words, they would haven't know that the value of the product have been increased  and the increased-quality product would haven't win its better competitive position , ask yourself and the consumers as shopping in mall, how these increased-quality product could affect your consuming decisions ?

The same reasoning would be available to the lowered price products.

Thus , you could easily find out that choice E would be the best answer choice among the five answer choices.

As to A B C D, all the information mentioned in them is irrelevant to the argument nor they could support the conclusion . Most of all , the key point to this argument and its conclusion is that would the inreased quality or / and the lowered price of the products affect the consumers shopping preference , would they prefer the changed-value products to the no-change competitive ones?
