问题在于，第一题选A为什么不对？
第二题选A为什么不对？如果A 改为the splitting apart continents或者the continents splitting apart，能不能选？？
第三题，B改为rising moon for a massive Soviet missile attack是否仍然正确？？
对于，这类情况，到底是用DOING作中心词好，还是把DOING当作是形容词来修饰别的中心词好。

1.需要明确主语，主语应该是cost,而不是rising
2.the splitting apart of continents还是要比the splitting apart continents或者the continents splitting apart好。
the splitting apart of continents和其他词组平行，不仅是形式上的还有逻辑的平行：这几个平行短语的重心分别是reversals，onset，splitting apart和eruptions。作者: bob 时间: 2003-3-14 17:53
