When someone achieves greatness in any field --such as the arts, science, politicis, or business--that person's achievments are more important than any of his or her personal faults.

思路,思路.

To Joy, Just for triggering your thoughts.

Whether a person's achievements are more important than any of his or her personal faults is a complex question that needs to be weighed on a case by case study. Becuase different people judge the same issue from differen angles and by different stands.

I hold that, to reach our personal conclusions,  we need to consider:

1. How great is the achievement
2. What's the negative impact of his failing and how grave it is.

Examples:

As a two-term U.S. president, Bill Clinton brought a great economic booming to his country. Still some people may insist that his achievement in business may not outweigh the negative impact of his lying about his sextual scandle.
