两个状语放在主句前面，语法上有错误吗？

例如：To cross gypsy moths with adult silkworms, in attempting the development of a strong strain of silk-producing insects, a French scientist in 1869 imported the gypsy moth into Massachusetts from Europe.

感觉不好不会是sc中的正确选项

attempting夹心。一般sc中都是把修饰语放两边，一前一后

请指点...

反正我是觉得这样修饰不太符合sc的习惯似乎 .
