For a convention, a hotel charges a daily room rate of $120 for 1 person and x dollars for each additional person. What is the charge for each additional person?

(1) The daily cost per person for 4 people sharing the cost of a room equally is $45.

(2) The daily cost per person for 2 perple sharing the cost of a room equally is $25 more than the corresponding cost for 4 perople.

Answer: D

What does the underlined mean and what the use it is in the choose?

That's very important part for choice #2, if we translate into chinese, it will be 如果只俩人住一房间, 每人平分的价钱比四人平分同等的房价高出$25. You can express it as: (120 + x)/2 = 25 + (120+x)/4.... the answer is D because both choice are sufficient to find out the additional $X each person....

翻译成中文的意思：如果AA，两个人住平分的房费比4个人住平分的房费多25$。这个单独成立。
