Stronger laws are needed to protect new kinds of home-security systems from being copied and sold by imitators. With such pritection, manufacturers will naturally invest in the development of new home –security products and production technologies. Without stronger laws, therefore, manufacturers will cut back on investment. 1) in the first place, the arguer is begging the qestion in assuming that exsiting copyright, patent and trade secret laws are inadequate to protect home-security,system design.
2) in the second place, the arguer unfairly assumes that stronger legal protection will surely encourage manufacturers to invest in home-security system development.
3) finally, the arguer fails to establish a causal relationship between imposing stronger laws and product quality, marketability, production efficiency and manufacturung jobs.
