right answer: E
比较两个主语时谓语动词要尽量补出。这道题是不补谓语动词的例外吗？[em06]

补出代词，应该和it,that指代的对象有关，it指词本身，that+定语指中心词，因为工人只可能在一家工厂工作，故The unskilled workers at the Allenby realized that their hourly rate of $4.1 to $4.75 was better than their hourly rate（D中用it指） is in many nearby factories是不合理的。E中that指hourly rate

补充以下：为了对称，即是用D也应该用they。

jeff0613, 对不起，这道题是省略了谓语
比较的是从句的主语 their hourly rate 和that.
当比较的是主语时，谓语动词可以补出也可以不补。这个好象OG上有例子，主要还是要看是否会造成歧义如果不补出动词

肯定：thirten times as prevalant as 的表达正确
不是在艺术家中XXX的比例是在普通人口中的几倍，比较的是manic depression and major depression 流行程度。这两种病在distinguished artists中比在大多数人中的流行程度高出10-13倍
B 说的是the rates are more prevalant,应该是疾病prevalant
