B)Seeming to be

D) Because he seemed

The answer is C,but I don't know why the choice A and B is not correct?

If the subject of the sentence WERE Gorge, A and B WOULD be right.

GMAC prefers "appear to be" to the sole "seem" in this context.

Gorge是个人，Youth Canuous 是个组织
主位一致
