面试归来经验感想到现在为止面了4所学校, 要是能收到面试邀请还会面几所. 希望自己感受到的能够对坛子上的XDJM有所帮助.

1. 面试的问题:

1. Tell me about a time you faced conflict and how you resolved it

2. What role do you usually take in a team setting?

3. Tell me about a time when you exhibited leadership

4. What is your job description?

5. What do you do for fun?

6. What will the adcom see as your weakness?

7. What would XXX do for you that no other MBA program can?

8. What would your colleagues miss least about you?

9. What other schools are you applying to?

10. What areas do you need to develop?

11. Tell me about a team experience that was a failure

12. What would you concentrate in at XXX?

13. Tell me about a standout academic experience

14. Tell me an important thing that you learnt from your work and school experiences

15. Tell me about a specific situation in your professional career where you solved an important problem.

16. How would your workmates describe you?

17. After your two years at XXX, what would your classmates remember you by?

18. How would your friends and family describe your personality?

19. If you could go anywhere on a vacation or a holiday for a day and there were no constraints (monetory as well), where would you go?

20. If two managers were discussing you, what would they be saying?

21. What else should the adcomm know about you?

22. What is an important trend in technology?


除了上述之外,WHY MBA/WHY THIS SCHOOL/WHY NOW, 和LONG TERM/SHORT TERM CAREER GOAL应该是不用说必要准备的.


但是同样的问题可能以不同面目出现, 比如WHY THIS SCHOOL可能变形为WHAT IS YOUR CRITERIA WHEN SELECTING B-SCHOOL?


2. 面试场所选择:


我感觉除了电话INTERVIEW是要争取避免的以外,校园,HUB,校友的选择实在是应取最方便的那种.一个普遍的误解是校园会SHOW COMMITMENT. 我原来也是这么认为的.不过通过和ADCOM以及学生聊天我发现他们和咱们是一样的人, INCREDIBLY REASONABLE.


我曾经看过一个申请者抱怨校友INTERVIEW 时校友非常不专业, 对他很敌视. 他很后悔没有做校园INTERVIEW.


我亲身经历了两个校园INTERVIEW.两个校友INTERVIEW. 其中的一个SECOND YEAR STUDENT很不专业.整个把INTERVIEW给毁了. 从那以后我就觉得 实在不知道哪朵云彩有雨.


3. 面试占多大分量:

我现在越来越怀疑面试的分量. 因为申请者不是在一个统一的标准下被判定的. Interviewer的主观因素也很重要.


我认为B-SCHOOL的面试不同于找工作的面试. Interviewer应该试图帮助Interviewee发掘其内在的东西. 而不是试图证明Interviewer比Interviewee聪明. 呵呵 这是我的理念,可不是气急败坏之牢骚.
