(D) the missions they engage in are increasingly different than the tasks for which they were built（A）

(E) they increasingly engage in missions far different than the tasks for which they were built

Please help, I don't know why A is better than E. 难道 "different than" 不行吗? Plus E is using active voice, which sounds better.

different后面用than不属于规范用法,但现在有些英、美人这样用。different from规范。

这个用法字典里可是查不到的。

different than 没有different from来的习惯.另外,BCD中从句少引导词.
