我的问题是，知道purpose有这样的用法：for/with the purpose of doing something

但是像E这样for the purpose of not doing可不可以？？

看到以前的讨论帖子说：“如果改成for the purpose not to compete directly with就对了”

这样可以么？但是我没有在longman里面找到for the purpose to do 的用法啊

GMAT语法主要是看用词简洁，清晰，符合原文逻辑。我没有去查过你说的这个看法是否正确，但是即使正确也不应该选择，因为不符合简洁。
