Tech Companies Looking to Hire More MBAs than Ever. Michigan Ross Ready To Meet The Demand
A new report from the Graduate Management Admissions Council that looks into the expected hiring trends of the most desirable employers for MBA graduates found that tech companies are looking to hire more MBAs than companies in other industries.
The GMAC survey found that 89 percent of tech companies said they plan to hire MBA students this coming recruiting cycle. That’s eight percentage points higher than the average for all employers, and it’s a significant increase from the 70 percent of all companies who planned to bring business graduates on board in 2017.

In fact, the full-time MBA Class of 2017 set an all-time high record for the number of graduates taking jobs in the tech industry, with 23.6 percent (up from 20.4 percent in the previous year) accepting a full-time offer with a tech company.
That same graduating class also set an all-time-high for median starting salary and bonuses.
“We hire MBA talent because we know that they have a degree of functional excellence and bring a diverse set of experiences and perspectives,” Priya Priyadarshini, senior human-resources director at Microsoft Corp recently told Bloomberg in an article about the new GMAC survey report. “We find MBA students to be data-driven and passionate about technology and what it can do to better the world.”
