我是BABSON CLASS OF 2015, 今年秋天到babson念MBA，准备MBA一年了，从考试到申请从论坛收获很多，我能贡献的就是对这个学校的了解，在校的师兄师姐如果看到，欢迎补充！

我的描述思路，先把网络上的babson资料整合，然后写一写我campus visit 和自己的了解，理解。

BABSON 在创业方面很强，在读学生三分之一是有家族企业的，毕业生创业比例很高，babson的faculty大都有创业成功的经历。

BABSON的学费也比较贵，和朋友比较，和harvard，haas都差不多。这里列出详细数据

BABSON 没有non-cosigner贷款，我对准备申请BABSON的同学的建议是：刷高GMAT和TOEFL， GMAT 750 T105+ 能获得比较好的奖学金。

可能有人会说，GMAT 750 or even GMAT 720+ 就可以申请RANKING TOP 20的学校，不会申请BABSON, 但是我认为持有这种想法的人，也基本不会和babson fit。

因为babson是为具有创业精神的学生准备的，在创业方面很有一套，有很好的创业氛围和培训，实打实的动手学创业。尤其是打算回中国创业的同学，会很受益，以后的收入会远超进入投行和咨询的。当然创业很辛苦也未必成功，不过这就是创业者所选择的，make the world a little different

最有说明性的资料，莫过于课程表
和所有其他商学院不同，课程不是分为marketing, finance 各个function，而是分为创业的四个阶段，分别是：

MODULE 1. 头脑风暴，idea generation, 这里面包括：市场分析，财务分析，竞争策略，数据基础，团队合作，可行性分析，SLE实践阶段
MODULE 2. 创造价值：给客户带来价值，管理经济学，财务管理，创业模型的法律issue；市场需求预报，不同市场的定价策略，基于社会责任的决策基础
SPRING KICK OFF: MANAGE YOUR OWN TALENT AND OTHERS'
MODULE 3. 持续发展：如何维持组织的有效性，市场表现与盈利间的协调分析，创业公司的流程管理，Babson Consulting Alliance Program, SLE=SIGNATURE LEARNING EXPERIENCE
选修课：entrepreneruship, capital markets, corporate strategies, marketing research Analysis,
MODULE 4. 在全球环境中创业企业的成长与创新：《企业，政府与全球经济》《technology的全球关联》《BCAP》SLE,

第二年，继续其他选修课

BABSON的同学：本科生创业最疯狂，有一个神奇的dorm，里面的学生疯狂创业，一个人甚至同时运营五六家公司，身价百万的比比皆是。也有很多家族企业继承人。

包括TOYOTA 丰田历代继承人，农夫山泉的继承人，印度很多富有的家族企业的继承人等。

MBA第一年结束后，鼓励学生抓住创业机会去创业，可以中途休学长达七年，七年内回来补完学分即可获得学位。创业气氛浓厚。

即使MBA的中国同学，也有休学创业的，也有边读书边创业的。

找工作方面一般，去咨询公司，投行的几乎没有。希望转换career switch的同学慎重选择。希望长期来讲要创业的同学，必定大有收获。

选择BABSON的风险：名气目前不够响，回国几乎没听过，即使在美国也听说过的少。但是在美国的创业圈子里面，在MBA教学圈子里面，BABSON的创业有口皆碑。

目前中国的经济发展迅速，各种机会层出不穷，在美国成熟的商业环境中学习知识技能，尤其是在babson学习创业方面的东西，找到资源和人脉，再回中国在热火的经济大潮中创业，我个人认为是一个黄金组合。

BABSON 在波士顿市区，开车到市区20-30分钟。在boston这个城市，垃圾桶引起了我的注意，每个垃圾桶上面有一块太阳能电池板，上面有指示灯指示存储了多少电量。然后用电力驱动压缩机把垃圾自动压缩，减少了垃圾处理的成本。我本来想当然认为这个是MIT的产品，后来和babson同学聊天才知道，这就是BABSON毕业生创建的公司产品，已经运行好几年了。在BABSON 创业中心大楼前就有这样的垃圾桶。

BABSON 创业活动：每个想创业的同学都可以参加暑期的ROCKET PROGRAM, 利用别人在公司实习的时间，有两个月，学校给予创业辅导，专门教授指导，分为四五个阶段，从凑齐团队到帮你训练presentation。最有有一个盛大活动，有几百人参赛，也有社会人士来参加，300多名投资人和记者汇集在大厅，每个项目有三分钟表达时间，ppt不超过三页，获胜者可以获得prize和venture capital. 但是好多babson的项目都没参加最终的rocket speech, 因为他们在暑期就找到风投，move out of 孵化中心出去发展了。

babson的教授在创业方面比较权威，mit和harvard也有请babson的教授去搞讲座

babson很多校友出来创业，但是算中小型企业，没有做到google和facebook这么大。

创业者精神很强。各种点子可以很快的变成实际的企业。

有人研发把魔音耳机变成无线传输，做了一年就卖给合伙人，赚几万美金，然后继续开发新项目。

有人研发节能灯的转接口，接楼宇项目，一单就可以赚几十万刀。

HEIDI NECK

Associate Professor

Jeffry A. Timmons Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies
Heidi Neck is the Jeffry A. Timmons Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at Babson College. As Faculty Director of the Babson Symposia for Entrepreneurship Educators (SEE), she passionately works to improve the pedagogy of entrepreneurship education because new venture creation is the engine of society. Given the integrated and multidisciplinary nature of entrepreneurship, teaching entrepreneurship requires an entrepreneurial approach. In her own words:

I demand that my students think and act entrepreneurially, which requires creative problem-solving, calculated risk-taking, and improvisation. From a pedagogical perspective, I have to do the same. Teaching entrepreneurship requires continual innovation, fearless experimentation, and structured chaos. There is absolutely nothing more fun to teach! Yet I have a significant responsibility. Given the chaotic and nonlinear nature of entrepreneurship I must develop the discovery, thinking, reasoning, and implementation skills of my students so they may lead, manage, and excel in highly uncertain entrepreneurial environments. I want my students to identify and capture the right opportunity at the right time for the right reason.
In addition to entrepreneurship education Professor Neck’s research interests include social entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship, and creativity. She has published numerous book chapters, research monographs, and refereed articles in such journals as Journal of Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and International Journal of Entrepreneurship Education. She is on the editorial board of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and Academy of Management Learning & Education. Recognized for her contributions to innovative teaching and curriculum developments, she’s received numerous awards including Babson’s Deans’ Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Gloria Appel Prize for entrepreneurial vitality in academe, United States Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (USASBE) Outstanding Entrepreneurship Course, USASBE Best Practice Pedagogy for theatrical improvisation, and USASBE best workshops for social entrepreneurship development and entrepreneurship pedagogy using the historic account for Ernest Shackleton’s journey to the South Pole as a backdrop for a discussion on entrepreneurial thought and action. Babson has nominated her twice for the Carnegie Foundation Professor of the Year Award—but only nominated!

Heidi Neck completed her Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She holds a B.S. in Marketing from Louisiana State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Professor Neck teaches entrepreneurship at the executive, MBA, and undergraduate levels, and consults small businesses. She regularly speaks and teaches around the world helping educators better teach entrepreneurship and espousing the positive force of entrepreneurship as a societal change agent.

Visiting Professor

Joe holds a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona, an MBA from University College Dublin and a PhD in Business Administration from IESE, Barcelona, where he was a member of the marketing faculty for 15 years (1982-1997) and Chairperson of the Full time MBA Program between 1990 and 1994. At the moment he runs AXIOMA CONSULTANTS, a management consulting firm he founded 12 years ago and lives in Malaga, on the south coast of Spain.

He is involved both in graduate and executive education as well as consulting projects with an emphasis on aligning marketing management policies with current business strategies.

In the last years, he has been a Visiting Professor at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia (Charlottesville); has also taught executive Programs at INSEAD/CEDEP (Fontainebleau) and is a part time faculty member at ESADE Business School (Barcelona), Instituto Internacional San Telmo (Sevilla), Europen School of Management and Technology (Berlin) and IEDC Bled School of Management (Slovenia). He has designed and delivered executive development programs and seminars in more than 60 countries in 4 continents and has won numerous teaching awards in Graduate Programs.
