evolved
(E) to suggest that the elephant is descended from
an aquatic animal and that its trunk originally

1、关于E里的指代，理论上可以指代elephant也可以指代an auqtic animal吧，可是为什么没有产生歧义呢？是因为两个that从句平行，所以its必须和前一个从句的主语一样么？还是因为aquatic animal没有trunk,所以不会产生歧义？个人偏向后者的解释，想问前面一种解释可以么？因为做题的时候真的不知道trunk是象鼻啊- -直接排除了这个选项。

2、丢人地问一下，我有点混乱了。have found evidence that 后面不是应该跟过去式么？为什么是is descend from呢？是因为evidence表示定理，必须用现在时，还是因为have found that后面本来就是跟一般现在时？

我觉得第一个问题我比较偏向第一种解释。
第二个是因为后面的从句表示的意思是一个具体的现象和结论。所以应当用一般现在时

第一个问题：【处于主句位置的代词，倾向于指代平行对象的主语。】因为你这里是两个that从句平行，而且第二个that从句中的its处于主语位置，所以首选指代elephant。而这又符合逻辑，故没有问题。

第二个问题：have found evidence和evidence是什么，在这道题里，其实二者并不相关。也就是说：我过去发现了一个evidence，到现在这个evidence还是在证明XXXXX。而且因为这个是一个永恒的定理或说结论，所以evidence后面用一般现在时，没有问题~

这道题第一个问题中还是应该是第二种解释，没有任何的歧义。
而第二个问题，我觉得做改错不应该考虑语法，意思对了即可。

那么AD项中的its指代没有问题吗：E 中的and that 中的that写出来当然是最明了的表示平行的了，但是去掉了呢，如D中的，这样指代是不是也优先指代从句中的主语--elephant。还有A项中的“，and its trunk originally evolving” 中的its是不是指代不清了，又能指代elephant，有可能指代aquati canimal？（抛去AD中的其他错误不看）

1, 按平行原则和代词的原理，its必定是指代平行结构中前一个子句的主语即elephant
2. 因为句子说的那句话是真理，真理都是用现在时的，不管什么时候发现的。大象从海洋动物进化而来的确是真理。
