解释说A错误是因为in their attempt at cleaning…名词表达方式不及动词attempt有效。正选B
A和B相比最多只能说是不好，但是B和原句意思不一样，完全改变意思，这也可以？
还有个说法说A这么用的话，后面的IT就会指代不明，为什么了，我感觉挺明白的~

they are not using the technology to hope， but to attempt
therefore， choice A put the core construction “attempt” into non-essential modifier

that makes no sense

明白了，看来还是高度不够，从字面意思无法解决，还是得回到逻辑意思
