extremely important butmore research was needed to determine that balloon angioplasty
preceded with ultrasound was or was not any better for heart attack patients thanthe
balloon procedure by itself.

这道题答案是C 但是我的疑问是 than后到底用不用加is 若然，is位置在何处
亦即
X is any better than Y

or

X is any better than is Y

or

X is any better than Y is

以上三句话意思一样，都是主语比较，当前半句没有宾语时，后半句不必要补出助动词（但不出来不算错，只是prefer的层面选择）

至于后半句补出的helping verbs放在那里？——都一样。。。。。。
