C选项的后半句，distantly related to。。。and closely resembled。。。不是比A平行更工整吗，但是答案选A

C选项考察了：修饰成分应该尽可能靠近修饰对象的原则
(C) 介词短语In Madagascar离它的修饰对象have been discovered太远, 句子重心不稳，并且related and resembled到底是定从紧随修饰MxxxAxxx还是定从修饰the bones，有歧义

Is the a meat-eating dinosaura modifier for
Majungatholus atopus （or the reverse is true？ I think this approach can help you figure it out more quickly）

resemble表示與...相像的時候，應該是個及物動詞吧。這裡說Majungatholus atopus與South American predatory dinosaurs相像，不應該用resembled，而應該用resembling吧。
把它還原應該是Majungatholus atopus resembles South American predatory dinosaurs，而不是Majungatholus atopus is resembled South American predatory dinosaurs.
愚見咋...

for i omit some serious blunders committed by choice C

distantly related is not parallel to resembled
related can be construed as past participle or adjective， resembled is past-tense verb

除了，在V-ing还是V-ed这个问题上纠结之外，还是要多注意整个句子构造所导致的句子逻辑意思和修饰清晰度的问题。
C：In Madagascar, the bones of a meat-eating dinosaur, Majungatholus atopus, distantly related to Tyrannosaurus rex and closely resembled South American predatory dinosaurs, have been discovered.
这里存在的一个很大的问题，即是distantly related.....这个并列形容词短语到底在修饰谁。
Majungatholus atopus 是插入语，本身就不构成主句成分。后面的形容词，如果其修饰句子主语，首先bones不能related和resemble；其次修饰词和被修饰词隔的太远，句子本身已被构造成【主语，同位语（还不是和主语同位，是和主语其中的另一个名词同位，形容词）】
这样的构造在不同的维度间绕来绕去，本身就不够清晰。再加上存在语义逻辑错误，肯定是不对的。
第二种可能，distantly related修饰的是Majungatholus atopus。那同样句子的主语和谓语，被中间一大串的同位语，形容词修饰语等结构远远隔开，表达非常不effective。
所以，GMAT考SC是要求在语法正确的基础上，争取最简洁清晰的表达语句意思。因此，也要多关注语义逻辑。
