答案是:C

A选项： taking 的逻辑主语是original building and loan associations ，作状语。
所以我选了A

taking表示俩个动作同时发生，而根据逻辑应该是先后发生的关系，所以是C

理解句意就不会选A了:take turns 的主语必须是members而不是original building and loan associations

能不能这么理解：taking的主语在这里有歧义，一种是associations，一种是members。所以不能用taking.

你理解一下句意，也许你看上去所有词都熟悉，可就是不知道讲什么。
这句意思是：
某个association (original building and loan association) 以某种funds （即基金，limited life funds） 的形式组织起来，它的成员每月付款(on their share subscriptions，此处share也就是股票或者基金的“每一股，每一份”的意思，就说每个成员拥有这个funds的一份，这个subscription fee要按月付），然后轮流（take turns英英解释为alternate，这里轮流的意思，说白了就是，当每个成员需要买房的时候，这其实就是一种take turns——因为成员都需要买一次房）从这个funds里面取款作为自己贷款买房的抵押(home mortgage)。

我解释得比较罗嗦，希望你能理解。句子主干就是粗体字。
你看，这么理解下来，你的理解说后面take turns的主语是某个association，是不是不make sense？
不管是从"take turns"词意本身来说，还是从take turns干吗（从这个funds里面取款作为自己贷款买房的抵押）来说，take turns的主语都必须是members，不是association。然后结合时态，就选took了。

如果是ing形式作伴随状语的结构，ing形式都somehow modifies the whole sentence，其逻辑主语就是原句子的主语。
所以如果句子写成taking那个样，他的主语就是association，但这从句意和逻辑上不make sense。
