比如我在东海岸申请CHICAGO,我一定需要到CHICAGO去面试么?还是可以LOCAL面试?

sometimes they can offer your an interview by an alumna or phone interview. i prefer face to face.

如果学校提供校友面试的，你就申请校友面试好了。但是如果你是很serious要申请这个学校的，建议你去学校看一下也好的，相比10万美元的费用，几百块的机票不算什么了。

Maybe you could spend more time at campus, attending class and talking with current students. Then when writing "Why Chicago", you could have more personal experience to say.
