Hello there! It sounds like you have some nice dreams! But
what's the rush? I'll be honest with you, the straight out of
college programs will be very difficult for you to get into with
your GPA, HBS 2+2 and Silver Scholars, etc. really only take the
best of the best, and with a GPA of 3.0 your chances will be
slim.
As for applying next year, honestly, with only one year of
experience, it will likely be too little and give you a great
disadvantage when applying to MBAs. The average work experience
for most programs is about 4-5 years, and I would suggest having
at least three when you apply. I guess maybe right now you feel a
little bit “stuck” because you have not got that job offer you
wanted, but perhaps you have other options? Such as volunteer/GNO
programs abroad? Or if not, a technical Masters, such as Masters
in nonprofit, or public policy, etc. Have a look here at some
Nonprofit programs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Nonprofit_Organizations
I think that would be one option if you are in a rush. The other
would be to try and first gain those three+ years of experience.
Best of luck my friend, feel free to reach out if there is
anything else we could help with
