B的主詞變成proponents.導致整個語意改變了, proponents
won’t be able to skim along the top of atmosphere.
C錯
將with it -> by skimming會比較好
D錯在加了because of 之後，整個意思改變了
E it指代不清.

明白了，D解释得很好。另外我觉得E是连续两个修饰结构放一起不妥。

楼上正解， 做多了题我感觉一个标准的多修饰语的ETS句子总是：
修饰语，主句， 修饰语
如果出现主句，修饰语，修饰语，
除非独立主格结构，否则必错
