According to promotional material published by the city of Springfield, more tourists stay in hotels in Springfield
than stay in the neighboring city of Harristown.A brochure from the largest hotel in Harristown claims that more tourists stay in that hotel than stay in the Royal Arms Hotel in Springfield.If both of these sources are accurate, however, the “Report on Tourism” for the region must be in error in stating that __________.
A. the average length of stay is longer at the largest hotel in Harristown than it is at the Royal Arms Hotel

B. there is only one hotel in Harristown that is larger than the Royal Arms Hotel

C. more tourists stay in hotels in Harristown than stay in the Royal Arms Hotel

D. the Royal Arms Hotel is the largest hotel in Springfield

另外我那个题里面没有B 选项选的E。。。这个prep里面的东西准么~
还是这个题就是变形啊。。

而且这道题 B选项比E选项感觉好很多~S说城市之间的比较S大~而H说的是酒店和酒店之间的比较H大~拿答案显然就是B 比 E要好~如果是E 那 H的话真实的话那 S的话就明显是假的了。。我又怀疑原题有问题了。。。

Lz:The stimulus tells us that both of these sources are accurate.If E is ture,then we got more tourists stay in Harristown!So E is the correct answer.What's more,we don't have enough information to know how many hotels in Harristown that are larger than Royal Arms Hotel.

上面说的S城市的毕H城市的多~也是对的。。这个怎么解释。。

第二个说的强调的是两个酒店对比得出在H酒店的比S酒店的多~E选项你只能知道H城市的比S城市的多~但是明显来说第一个的真实性就受到质疑了~

First,we can't infer the larger the hotel,the more tourists stay in it.
Second,what is "第一个、第二个"?

From the stimulus, we know two facts:
(1) More tourists stay in hotels in Springfield than in neighboring city Harristown
(2) The largest hotel in Harristown claims that more tourists stay in there than in the Royal Arms Hotel in Springfield

Both facts are true. Then the stimulus says that "Report on Tourism" must be wrong by saying the blank (our answer choice). Apparently the Report must have said something controdictory to the two facts we just learnt.

Answer choice (E), "the Royal Arms Hotel is the only hotel in Springfield" is correct answer to fill in the blank because if (E) is true, then Fact (2) is true but Fact (1) must be false.

关键点在这儿，人家题中问的是 be in error in stating that ___
也就是说ABCDE哪个说出来后使得题中给的两个条件不都accurate。
ABCD说出来都不影响两条件准确性，只有E使两条件不都accurate

最后一句的意思实际上是：基于以上两个成立的事实，Report一定是错的如果它state......
错是因为说了它之后使得原来给的事实不成立了
这题问得真别扭

我觉着这题的意思是这样的~A是无关选项~如果选BCD前提1和前提2都是~不一定~被推翻的，就是原文的所有东西都可能是对的~只有在选E的情况下，两个前提中的第二个一定是错的
