and 后的rootlike tentacles 不会是和 a giant fungus平行吧？不在同一层次上好像是吧？那是和什么平行？

不是的，这里说的平行指的是spawned和extending是一对平行结构，即都是分词结构（一个是过去分词，一个是现在分词）；所以答案选A，OG就是这么解释的，我选了extended，解释说extending有延续到现在的动作。哎，坑爹啊，我哪知道现在密歇根森林是个什么情况啊！！！！

我知道spawned 和extending平行，但是a giant fungus是做oldest living organism的同位语，也就是说rootlike tentacles的位置现在是同位语的位置，否则如果要和前面平行，首先必须是完整句，但是很显然不满足，但做oldest living organism的同位语显然是不合适的，但是这句子又不可能是错的，得出结论就是无解

如果是这样那原句就是fungus is rootlike tentacles?

我是这样理解的
Scientists have...discovered....这是整个句子的结构
后面的a giant fungus则是同位语。然后that再进一步解释a giant fungus究竟是个神马玩意儿~
an interwoven filigree of mushrooms and rootlike tentacles（that is）spawned by a single fertilized spore some10,000 years ago and （is）extending for more than 30 acres in the soil of aMichigan forest.
