115. Meteor showers and individual streaks of light that flash across the sky every night are generated when tiny flecks of celestial detritus, often no larger than grains of sand or of pebbles, burn up speeding through the atmosphere.
A. grains of sand or of pebbles, burn up speeding
B. grains of sand or pebbles, burn up while speeding
C. grains of sand or pebbles, which burn up while speeding
D. a grain of sand or pebble, which burns up as it speeds
E. a grain of sand or a pebble, burns up when it speeds
A: grains 应该和 pebbles平行，而不是从属关系；speeding 应该修饰flecks
B: correct
C: when从句没谓语
D: 同上
E: burns应该用burn；it指代错
注意：
1、判断名词平行的方式，单数对单数，复数对应复数
2、while+分词的省略，主语是主句主语
请详细说明一下...不懂啊...

B. grains of sand or pebbles, burn up while speeding
C. grains of sand or pebbles, which burn up while speeding ,WHICH指代错误
D. a grain of sand or pebble, which burns up as it speeds 先排除
E. a grain of sand or a pebble, burns up when it speeds先排除

我觉得不对啊，
grain是颗粒，后面的sand和pebble才应该平行，加上of避免歧义啊！！！！！！！！！
另外，speeding up 不用加while也是修饰主句主语啊！！！！！！！！！

sand和pebble是平行的,但如果是pebbles就不平行了, 这里是grans of sand复数名词和pebbles复数名词的平行.
另外这里while连词不可省略.

黄色部分是插入，因此根据主谓的需求排除CD两个连谓语也没有的东西
在排除E，因为主语是tiny flecks复数，burns不符合主谓一致
只剩AB
A错 burn up speeding ，这里需要去掉插入成分，句子变成tiny flecks of celestial detritus burn up speeding through the atmosphere，这里的speeding很突兀，缺少一个逗号来变成分词做状语伴随。
B就合适多了tiny flecks of celestial detritus burn up while speeding through the atmosphere
对于前面的of的省略我觉的是合适的，对于解释中的A中的不平行问题我持保留意见，我觉的A和B的钱半部分是一样的，只是一个of的省略不省略的问题，并不引起歧义。A错在后半部分。
