Despite recent increasesin sales and cash flow that have propelled automobile companies' common stocks to new highs, several industry analysts expect automakers, in order to conserve cash, toset dividends more conservatively than they were
A. to set dividends more conservatively than they were
B. to set dividends more conservatively than they have been
C. to be more conservative than they have been in settingdividends
D. that they will be more conservative than they were in setting dividends
E. that they will be more conservative than they have been to set dividends
我明白D是因为expect sb that的搭配有错,但是C为什么用了have been呢?
另外,如果题目改写成several industry analysts expect that automakers will be more conservative than they were in setting dividends, in order to conserve cash是否正确呢??

首先是 expect sb to do sth 排除d,e
A do sth more····than B do
A be more····than B Be
其次,看A 还原的话 automakers set dividends more conservatively than they were
B还原 automakers set dividends more conservatively than they have been
c还原的话 automakes are more conservative than they have been in ···
尽管最近在sales and cash上的增长已经propelled automobile companies' common stocks to new highs,分析家还是希望 automakers to be more conservative than they have been in settingdividends
the idea of completed action can be used simply to placepresent perfect action earlier than another action in Ving forms, infinitives or subordinate clause
Right:she will play you when you have taken out the gatbge
the time of will play is later than the future time of have taken
several industry analysts expect that automakers will be more conservative than they havebeen in setting dividends
