Salt deposits and moisture threaten to destroy the Mohenjo-Daro excavation in Pakistan, the site of an ancient civilization that flourished at the same time as the civilizations in the Nile Delta and the river
valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates.
(A) that flurished at the same time as the civilizations
(B) that had flourished at the same time as had the civilizations
(C) that flourished at the same time those had
(D) flourishing at the same time as those did
(E) flourishing at the same time as those were

选A, 为什么不补出后面的助动词呢，是不是因为这里的at the same time as就相当于more than的作用，这样看at the same time as的前后比较的就都是civilization了？

知音，就是上来问这道题的，这个at the same time as不就是一个最常见的平行结构的信号么。。。。

貌似比较civilization可把平行这个问题解释了，不过由于那个that flourished的存在，似乎这个“时间“是繁荣的时间。。。不懂了

忘了哪儿看来的了，突然觉得很释然。

that flourished只是个定语，而不是谓语动词，后面如果有did反而不平衡了！
看来追得不够细，不能从简单的表面仓促的下结论阿~

如果没有逗号前面的内容，只看the site of an ancient civilization that flourished at the same time as the civilizations in the Nile Delta and the river valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates.这个部分。

如果没有that，那就不一样了~~厚厚

其实这里就算不是定从 civilization flourished...as the civilization也不用加··
平常s1 v o at the same time as s2 有s2与o比较的歧义·所以为了避免造成这种歧义，就把动词补助，将其限定为s1与s2两主语的比较
85题中flourished这个动词后没有带宾语·不补助动词也不会引起歧义·
相反补助了反而是redundant
