According to the researchers, these results strongly support the hypothesis that mental states influence the body's vulnerability to infection . which of the following, if true, casts the most serious doubt on the researchers' interpretation of their findings ? (c) Disorders of the immune system cause many of those individuals who have them to become chronically depressed. (E) A high frequency of infections can stem from an unusually high level of exposure rather than from any disorder of the immune system. Answer is C. 可我觉得Ｅ作为他因反对也可成立啊？谢谢

The conclusion is "Mental states---> vulnerability of immune system". E show us that infections don' ...

but the conclusion is"According to the researchers, these results strongly support the hypothesis that mental states influence the body’s vulnerability to infection".so here is an assumption that the more functional a immune system is, the less vulnerable a person to get infection.'' which is just what E says. but I consider the main problem in E is "highly frequancy" makes the scentence seems that the situation only happens in hihly frequancy. So C is better than E
