If the integers a and n are greater than 1 and the product of the first 8 positive integers is a multiple of an, what is the value of a ?

(1)an = 64

(2)n = 6

这道题没有看懂耶，什么思路呢？
迷茫中，求帮助啊~

应该是B吧，
a^n是1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8的一个因子
1.）2^6=4^3=8^2=64：不行
2.）n=6, 3^6, 4^6, 5^6（a再大就大于那个乘积了）都不能整除那个乘积，只有2^6可以

这样子想吧, 基于2楼的解释, 再扩展些,

1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8*9 = (2^7) * (3^4) *5 * 7 = M*a^n

1肯定不确定的. 因为知道a^n = 64, a可以等于2 或者等于4, 两个

数字都可以令到题目有解, 所以不行.

2的话, 从上面的化简我们知道a就只可以是2,3,4,5最多去到6, 如果

a是3, 那么化简知道 M*a^2 = 2^7 * 5 * 7, 不能整除, 所以排除,

同理可以排除剩下的, 只有2是可以, 因为幂指数比7要小

所以是B

这个题的关键是理解“the product of the first 8 positive integers is a multiple of a^n”，即前8个正整数之积是a^n的倍数。关键要清楚，前8个正整数之积就是自然数从1乘到8。你会发现对于中国考生来说，GMAT的数学最后还是在考英语，题目理解清楚，可以减少错误。
