答案选的是C 解释为Replacing the underlined phrase with the participle protecting creates a modifying phrase that clearly explains the purpose of the items of military equipment.
我想问的是表目的为什么不用E？

animal-hide shields 翻译出来是“兽皮盾”（翻译举得有点搞笑，凑合吧）
首先E错啊，因为to do在这里的逻辑主语是animal-hide shields ，可是应该是warriors的目的啊。
C，这里伴随状语表示状态，符合逻辑。
其他的根据简洁可以分出优先排除。
PS：建议LZ啊，这个题是OG12-SC30，加上这个标题会不会有更多的人回答讨论呢？

首先谢谢你啦，我没注意到逻辑逻辑主语是谁。。。然后就是这题也是og12上的，虽然记得遇到过，但是我也记不起是在做gwd看过还是在哪里看过。。。。其实之前也有搜过og12与og11重题的表格，可悲剧的没有找到，于是最后也就草草的注og11了~
