Artificial intelligence emerged during the late 1950's as an academic discipline based on the assumption that computers are able to be programmed to think like people.
(A) are able to be programmed to think like people
(B) were able to be programmed to think as people
(C) can be programmed to think as people can
(D) could be programmed to think like people
(E) are capable of being programmed to think like people do

选D,请问C错在哪里?

C的逻辑关系不对
D指可以被programmed像人一样
而C是指人可以和PC一样被programmed，这是不符合逻辑的

C 应该是as people do,不能用can
这儿do代替的是think

我认为，若选项中有like people，应首先考虑这种习惯的用法。
若有like people的选项有明显的错误，则改成as people do，可选

In addtion: Pay attention to the verb tense in here. "based " --> " Could be"
more for your reference: "assumption"--> " Could be" > Can for "modal" need.

我好象记得，在表示象。。。时，用like，而as 是作为的意思。但如果是用逗号隔开的，则as a do, b do, like/unlike A, B .....

这是一般情况下的用法，你说的是对的。但在这个题目中的用法，两个都有使用。

LIKE和AS的用法太多了,实在是容易搞混.
LIKE+名词,通常只限于主语为人,且"受多数人喜欢"时,使用被动语态.
AS可接从句,可表理由.
在GMAT中对AS的重点考察是当其表示动作的方式,强调某一动作的相似性.除此外,还有几点也很重要

1)A DO (DOES) STH.JUST AS b DO (DOES) (2) JUST AS C DO (DID,DOES) STH.SO B DO (DID,DOES) (3)JUST AS C DO, SO TOO +倒装句子/正常语序的句子
