the difference between BE ABLE TO and BE CAPABLE OF DOING STH is given below:
depends on the context. be capable of doing something is more specific, meaning having the physical ability or the skill or education to carry out a task. "be able to do sth" can also mean that, but it can be more general, too. for example, you could be unable to do something because you don't have time, or because the weather is bad. situations beyond your control

princess, capable 是跟of 的
但capability却不一样,新英汉字典旧版的P167,上面两个都可以the capability to do sth/the capability of solving practical
而在LONGMAN95版的P186,只有capability to do sth
固定用法现在是高频题,就象possiblity of doing sth, ability to do sth,不能不小心啊

Hi,
Princess is correct.
According to the Oxford Dictionary (Advanced Learner's 6th Edition) - the capability to do something/of doing something, both have the same meaning.
