正确答案C中的exceeding可以理解为分词短语修饰rates of entrepreneurship吗？为什么是ing形式，rates不会主动去exceed，是不是应该用ed形式呢？

我觉得此题的关键是对称：
C：immigrants from the Mideast 对 every other immigrant group
而看其他选项和other immigrant group比的都是rate速度，所以是不对的
exceeding 是修饰 rates of en...

ls 的不对吧。这里就是rate 和rate 比所以要用those，those 指代的就是rate啊。ABD都是没有加those错，E是rates 和exceeds单复数不一致，所以只剩了C。
楼主，rate exceeds 确实是主动的呀，你看ADE里的哪个exceed用被动了？——就中文么也是今年的比率超过了去年的，超过是主动的，不必要被动的概念。另一个比率被超过了那才被动，很明显此句里做主语的比率是超过了另一方，不是被对方超过。

不对,,ＡＢ根本不能加these of ,but in D ,必须加these of ，因为ＡＢ中前面的主语是 mideast immigrants not immigrants~~~~
