were the Shang, well known as the crafters ofC.[font=]the Shang, as the first literate culture in East Asia
, is well known for its craftingD.[font=]the Shang were the first literate culture in East Asia
and are well known as the crafters ofE.[font=]the Shang were the first literate culture in East Asia
and well known for its crafted
答案选D。
其中这句话,the Shang were the first leterate culture in EA, the Shang指的是商代的人,用were这里没有问题。

being China’s first administrators,说的是人,所以主语应该是the Shang(商朝人), 所以排除A,B。
E可理解成省略了were,即 the Shang were the first literate culture in East Asia and (were)well known for its crafted,
另外E中its也不对,应该是their。

The shang were the first literate culture.因为我们不是认为the shang 是商朝的人么,那么这样我们怎么用主系表说shang were the culture? 。
3q again!
