11.    Radio stations with radio data system (RDS) technology broadcast special program information that only radios with an RDS feature can receive.  Between 1994 and 1996, the number of RDS radio stations in Verdland increased from 250 to 600.  However, since the number of RDS-equipped radios in Verdland was about the same in 1996 as in 1994, the number of Verdlanders receiving the special program information probably did not increase significantly.

Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

(A) Few if any of the RDS radio stations that began broadcasting in Verdland after 1994 broadcast to people with RDS-equipped radios living in areas not previously reached by RDS stations.
(B) In 1996 most Verdlanders who lived within the listening area of an RDS station already had a radio equipped to receive RDS.
(C) Equipping a radio station with RDS technology does not decrease the station's listening area.
(D) In 1996 Verdlanders who did not own radios equipped to receive RDS could not receive any programming from the RDS radio stations that began broadcasting in Verdland after 1994.
(E) The RDS radio stations in Verdland in 1996 did not all offer the same type of programming.
答案选A,能解释一下么?

7.    United Lumber will use trees from its forests for two products.  The tree trunks will be used for lumber and the branches converted into wood chips to make fiberboard.  The cost of this conversion would be the same whether done at the logging site, where the trees are debranched, or at United's factory.  However, wood chips occupy less than half the volume of the branches from which they are made.

The information given, if accurate, most strongly supports which of the following?

(A) Converting the branches into wood chips at the logging site would require transporting a fully assembled wood-chipping machine to and from the site.
(B) It would be more economical to debranch the trees at the factory where the fiberboard is manufactured.
(C) The debranching of trees and the conversion of the branches into chips are the only stages in the processing of branches that it would be in United's economic advantage to perform at the logging site.
(D) Transportation costs from the logging site to the factory that are determined by volume of cargo would be lower if the conversion into chips is done at the logging site rather than at the factory.
(E) In the wood-processing industry, branches are used only for the production of wood chips for fiberboard.
答案选D,也木有想通?

这两道题的分别是怎样的逻辑链,是怎么想的?请各路神仙帮忙

11:we can infer from the stimulus that more stations and more radios lead to more program information, right? Namely, the number of stations OR the number of radios would limits the number of program information. If we negate A,we have: it is not the number of stations but rather the number of radios limits the number of the information we can get.

7:For this promblem, I have no good strategy. You'd better eliminate some irrelevant choices. To suppot the conclusion, find something related to volume and pay attention to comparison-choice.

A is the answer.

What it says is that all the newly added station after 1994 still broadcast to the old listeners instead of reaching more NEW listeners.  This is the assumption required for the argument.

D is repeating partially the first sentence of the arugment, which is just a fact.  Anything mentioned in an arugment is not an assumption.  Assumption is an untold premise.

The reason why D is wrong:

The problem stem said: the radio station broadcast a special program that requires a RDS feature. It is not necessary that other programs broadcasted by the stations also need the RDS feature. So even some receivers haven't the RDS feature, we can't say that they can't receive ANY programs from the radio stations.

The reason why choice A is right:
Since thera are new stations establishted between 1994 and 1996, if new stations broadcasted to the people whose radios had such RDS feature but couldn't receive the signal previously, then the conclusion drew by the problem stem is false. BUT, choice A said FEW new staions did this, then the conclusion is true. So choice A is the assumption.
