Last month 15 homes were sold in Town X. The average (arithmetic mean) sale price of the homes was $150,000 and the median sale price was $130,000. Which of the following statements must be true?
（I）at least one of the homes was sold more than $165,000
(II) at least one of the homes was sold more than $130,000and less than $150,000
(III) at least one of the homes was sold less than $130,000
(A) I only
(B) II only
(C) III only
(D) I and II
(E) I and III

平均15块，中位13块，3肯定对，排除A，B，D。II不用看，直接看I
中位13块钱，假设少的那7所房子都是13块钱，那么前8所房子最多最多卖13×

8=104块钱
由于总价是15×15=225块钱，所以剩下7所最少要卖225-104=121块钱。

那么剩下7所，平均价至少为121/7=17.3块钱，必然要有房子价钱高于16.5块

钱
所以选E

把15间屋按售价从小到大排序：p1,p2,...,p8,p9...p15
已知：p8=13w, sum(p1,...p15) = 15*15=225

(1) 假定statement I不满足，即 p9...p15 <=16.5，可知，
max(sum) = 8*13 + 7*16.5=219.5 < 225。从而假定不成立。即statement I is true.

(2) 假定statement 2不成立，即p8>=15,那么sum(p8...p15) >=7*15=105
那么要求sum(p1...p7) <= 225 - 105 - 13=7。这是有可能的。

(3)假定statement 3不成立，即p1>=13,那么
sum(p1..p15) >= 13*15。有可能。

所以答案A。

思路跟你一样。但是注意了，都可以假设前面7个房子都是130000了，就有可能没有一个房子售价是低于这个的。所以第三个是不成立。这题答案是A
