THE ANSWER IS D. BUT WHAT GOES WRONG WITH E？

我觉得they指代不清吧~即可以指workers，也可以指packages

E还有个问题是that从句修饰the last day不简洁~

The day that... collect有问题吧
定语从句that必须充当从句成分若是collect的宾语句子不通

应该不是同位语从句，同位语从句中，后句部分解释前面的词，这里不具备这个功能

应该还是定语从句没有写好
