答案B，为什么这里than后面不用补充直接可以接In any.....

补充的话就是a great portion than that in any previous election. 这个that省略了。

问：为什么不选A? A在语法上有问题么？还是A与B相比，B更简洁，所以选B?

想起来了A应该写成a greater proportion than it did

B的话，因为是状语比较in the presidential campaign of 1992 VS in any previous election,所以可以直接跟上比较内容。

a greater proportion than any previous election.= a greater proportion than the portion in any previous election.

只要是和前面比较部分相同的，都可以省略
省略的标准是不引起歧义
但是，如果修饰名词的从句或句子发生时态变化时，必须补充助动词
如果有歧义时，需补充结构
