First paragraph have an statement that" top management decision-sharing may increase the likelihood that firms will adhere to their plans", and the second paragraph think"the relationship may be affected by a firm's strategic" -- The first sentence of the second paragraph doesn't "prove the statement in first paragraph wrong", rather than make it less absolute.

好像有点明白，但E为什么不对呢？还有qualify确定是“限定”的意思吗？请NN指点！

我开始也是选E，后来觉得其实并没有说distinction，只是说了造成后面的distinction的关键在于这个relationship，而如果qualify是修饰描述的意思，那么D应该是正确的，因为是对前面的话的进一步说明。

I suppose that"qualify" means "make (a statement, etc) less general or extreme ".描述这种relationship的具体情况。
不过我还是不能理解E为何不对，请教大家：第二段第一句话中strategic mission (its fundamental approach to increasing sales revenue and market share, and generating cash flow and short-term profits)，括号里就是表明了the distinction that two different missions rely on呀？？

个人拙见，第二段第一句以However开始，显然表示了与第一段的紧密联系，而且上下两段为转折关系，所以，当问到第二段第一句作用时，应该跟多的是与第一段的联系，而E只是说明了该句话的内容。所以问function时，更多要从文章整体结构出发。

第一段只是说top management decision-sharing ！may！ increase the (10) likelihood 。所以第二段的however,没有完全否认这个观点，只是说还有别的因素的影响。qualify是限定的意思，所以第二段第一句就是限定第一段的这句话，提供更多的应该的思考因素，即a firm’s strategic mission~

qualify - to add to something that has already been said, in order to limit its effect or meaning.以上是LONGMAN字典的其中一個解釋，套進去D選項就可以明白這句話百分之百對。因為他正是去限縮第一段講的理論，認為第一段的理論實際上是受情境所影響與限縮的(limit its effect)。
E選項沒辦法提供這個此句子一開頭的轉折(However)語氣，而著重在後方的內容 (its fundamental approach to increasing sales revenue and market share, and generating cash flow and short-term profits)而沒有含括整句話的態度與功能，沒錯E的敘述不能算錯，但too specific。畢竟However, the relationship between top management decision-sharing and adherence to plans may be affected by a firm’s strategic mission在整句話的地位上絕對比(its fundamental approach to increasing sales revenue and market share, and generating cash flow and short-term profits)還要重要。
題目問的是功能(function)，而非細節(mentioned)，功能必須考量到作者的態度。However這個態度沒有被E所捕捉。
