830.The spraying of pesticides can be carefully planned, but accidents, weather conditions that could not be foreseen, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than they had anticipated.

D为什么不对呢？

一点平行的线索：can be carefully planned，显示B里面的呼应比D好些。

个人觉得是简洁性问题，就好像can优于be able to 一样

如果是用can be，那么 can be unforeseeable，和cannot be foreseen又是不同的语气了。

1. 表达能不能,为了表达得更准确,如果是可能性用can,如果是能力be able to.
2. 否定尽量用not+adj.不要用unadj.因为unadj不够准确

出现情态动词一般不能随意删除。can最好保留

D中weather conditions that are not foreseeable的定语从句显得罗嗦，完全可以用形容词定语搞定

我觉的是foreseeable表示能力，同be able to，weather condition没有foresee的能力，只有人有，所以用can+被动的语态表示能被“人”预测出。所以选B。

我做的时候也错了这道，所以就这样理解的。不知道对不对。

我觉得楼上的理解有点偏差。forseeable是可以预测的，注意这里的中文省略了暗含的是“可以被预测的”，是指weather condition，而不是人。
各个选项中，单独考虑不能被预测的天气这段，那肯定是unforeseeable weather condition优于that can be foreseen和that are not foreseeable。再考虑平行啊，和句尾那个they的代词的错误。

我是这样理解的因为pilot errors后面跟了动词 cause ，所以为了平行weather conditions后面就是cannot be foreseen，还有就是动词foresee>形容词forseeable，不知道对不对呐哈

我觉得应该是通过平行对称的原则来判断选B吧，
D中 "and" 前面是个主系表结构，后面是个主谓宾结构，
而B中的 "and" 前后都是主谓宾结构，更符合平行对称原则

所以答案选B

B表示（不能被预测的）天气状况。D表示天气状况不能被预测，是个非名词的句子，无论在语义还是在语法结构上都不如B好

首先这替考的是平行 accidents，weather conditions,pilot errors 都是名词

A.could错误使用过去式but前面是can;they指代问题语法上指代pilot errors 逻辑上应该是人；过去完成时也不对

C.unforeseeable weather conditions不平行； are the cause wordy 不如动词 cause;they had 同A

D.看到 that are wordy 直接排除

E.同C
