原文大意：

因为——S城的马赛克上出现了异地物种图案

所以——这个马赛克是异地画家画的。

关键词：

因为——异地物种

所以——异地工匠

比较：物种=工匠

答案中应该存在以上两个关键词。

E选项实际上是：There was not a common repertory of mosaic designs which artisans who lived in various parts of Roman Empire were familiar with.

with 修饰的是主语repertory。但GMAT考试中，要求定语从句中的介词要提到联结词which前。而且句子不能以介词结尾。这正是语法的考点之一。

因此，E选项的意思就明白了：罗马帝国的不同地区的工匠们（工匠）并没有一个他们都熟悉的马赛克设计图库（物种图样）。这句话中存在了两个关键词，所以正确。

A的意思是：S城的马赛克并不是仅仅用当地的石料加工而成的。

B的意思是：S城的马赛克所描述的物种并非产于某一特定区域。与E同理，to which...native=which...native to

这道题目只要抓住argument想说明马赛克是异地工匠做出来的，而不是本地工匠做出来的。但是如果本地工匠盒异地工匠用同样的图库，那这些马赛克就有可能是本地工匠做的。就明白了

这个题我觉得是D， 因为前面花了篇幅写Oddly, most of the species represented did not live in the Sepphoris region when these mosaics were created.   而不是说什么技术怎么怎么样。有人讨论一下么
