它的解释是改为the idea of, 因为of 在此所表示的功能为同位格的引介字,即the idea=using light to.......。

我看不太懂它的解释。

答案更好，因为是patent,so here the idea=the invention

patents-------ideas/inventions

here is singular,so should be "the idea"
