Most of the professors were very knowledgeable and truly cared about our success in the program. Some that were academics could have used a little more real-world perspective.

Strengths- Knowledge of subject matter, in-tune with recent trends in field, ability to draw upon varied experience of diverse student body, concerned with student learning. Weaknesses- Some instructors were unable to translate their own body of knowledge into a message that students could comprehend.

The level of instruction at Robinson is on the same level as any elite full-time MBA program. The diversity of the student body as it relates to race, gender and ethnicity as well as educational and occupational backgrounds greatly enhances the learning experience. The Robinson "Flex MBA" program is an excellent option for working professionals looking to advance their careers.

GSU has regular business speakers, breakfasts and other events at various campus locations around Atlanta, training and networking at a minimum monthly. In addition, the staff keeps students informed about the events and they are responsive to suggestions.

Courses that focus on class participation would have been more effective with small class sizes. While a larger group of students offers a greater variety of backgrounds and perspectives, in some classes students are competing to get called on to make remarks. I would increase the number of class sections in marketing, leadership, and strategy courses to remedy this.

The main business classroom building is great, but the area around it closes too early for evening MBA students. As downtown develops, I expect more restaurants and businesses to stay open later so students can have access to more services before and after class. The College should partner with local police and downtown neighborhood associations to improve safety, cleanliness, and lighting around the business school.

The curriculum is lock-step, which limited the course variety (except for electives), but that was known up-front and helped in developing relationships with peers and team building.

Most instructors were very excited about their areas of focus and injected this motivation into their teachings. I found that the instructors were very clear with their agendas for each class and successfully covered all the material and subjects in a thorough manner. In addition, I found the vast majority of instructors to have very admirable pedigrees. The weaknesses centered around teaching to the lowest denominator in some classes. My experience in a couple classes was that we spent too much time covering very basic concepts instead of progressing to the more advanced material.

Group work often hindered success more than taught the lesson about working in teams. There's no real consequence to low-quality group members (as there is in a job situation) and it unfairly burdens the rest of the group, plus it's really hard for many of us to schedule around work commitments to meet in addition to class times.

For the money and the reputation nationally, I couldn't have done better (as an in-state student). I have a well-respected MBA for not a lot of money and didn't have to sacrifice my current employment to earn it.
